Central Animal Inn is eager to become more involved in our community.
To begin this goal we raised money and donated time to Free Again Wildlife Rehabilitation during the month of December 2015. Free Again, Inc. was started in 1988 by Beverly Shofstall while she was working as a veterinary technician at Central Hospital for Animals. The facility has since grown and now takes in over 450 animals annually. They are Southern Illinois’ largest and only all species facility. A dedicated staff of volunteers provides nursing and hospital care to distressed wildlife. Beverly also does educational programs at local schools and events to teach children and adults about the wildlife that lives right here in Southern Illinois. Free Again depends heavily on volunteers and donations throughout the year. The volunteer’s hours at Free Again are critical to helping the facility take quality care of the animals it houses. Our staff here at Central Animal Inn was thrilled to have the opportunity to work so closely with the wild animals at Free Again. We spent two Saturday afternoons in December cleaning and organizing at the facility. Also, at CAI we raised money to buy supplies that will be donated to Free Again. We will be matching every item donation to increase the amount of supplies donated! We encourage the communities support of this great program. If you would like to donate please contact Free Again at 618-988-1067. Or mail a donation to 4031 Big Muddy Road Carterville, IL 62918. *Please call ahead if you would like to volunteer or tour the facility*
